Event Description

Vibraphonist/bandoneonist/composer Ben Thomas has been leading jazz and tango ensembles in Seattle since 1999. Deciding to combine his love of these two musics, he formed the Tangent Trio with long-time collaborators Eric Likkel and Alex Chadsey. Starting with a basis of the rhythms and forms of tango, milonga and Argentine vals, the Tangent Trio incorporates classical techniques and ventures into jazz-inspired improvisations.
