Event Description

Infectious grooves, stunning arrangements and electrifying solos are just some of the phrases used to describe Seattle-based vocal group Groove For Thought. Since 1998, Groove For Thought has brought its unique brand of jazz and R & B-infused tunes to festivals, concerts, schools and nightclubs throughout the United States and abroad.

The seven members of Groove For Thought create their own sound while drawing on influences as diverse as earth, Wind & Fire and the Count Basie Orchestra. Groove For Thought's self-titled CD has been released to rave reviews and has received radio airplay from coast to coast.

Groove for Thought has won a number of awards over the years, including the National Harmony Sweepstakes Championship and two Contemporary A Cappella recording awards for Best Jazz Song and Best Holiday Song. They have performed and presented workshops at the National American Choral Directors Convention in Miami, FL, the Polyfolia, the World Choral Music Symposium in St Lois, MO, the Europa Cantat Festival in Uterecht, Netherlands and Mittelrhein Musik Momente in Boppard and Rockenhausen, Germany. Recently, Groove for Thought participated in NBS's "The Sing-Off," an internationally televised a cappella competition.
