Event Description

Alla Bartoshchuk graduated Magna Cum Laude from Memphis College of Art. This comes as no surprise when viewing Bartoshchuk's work. Her dedication to perfecting her craft is evident. The trials of a realist painter rest with their ability to be honest with their subject and to render it so despite any aversion to the contrary. It is here that the artist excels. Her ability to see is profound, honest and masterfully executed.

If one perceives sexuality in her work it is to be embraced. Without it the tension that exists is empty and the longing felt is diminished. The true beauty of the work is its ability to connect the magnetism we have as humans, our sexual nature, to our craving for purity: ideas that often run contrary to each other.
