Event Description

This is the time of year to think about planting these beautiful free-flowering natives of Mexico that thrive in the Northwest. Dahlias range in size from 2-inch pompons to huge decoratives that grow to 14 inches – and more. We’ll talk about the various dahlia types, their cultural needs, and for the adventuresome gardener, we’ll discuss advanced dahlia culture including hybridization and growing dahlias from cuttings. The Puget Sound region is a hotbed of dahlia activity and is well-known for having ideal growing conditions as well as the top dahlia exhibitors and hybridizers in the US.
