The Seattle Bach Choir will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff ‘s “All Night Vigil” on Saturday, March 9, at Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
Sergei Rachmaninoff composed the “All Night Vigil” in 1915, on the cusp of the Russian revolution. The piece has been praised as Rachmaninoff’s finest achievement and “the greatest musical achievement of the Russian Orthodox Church.” The Seattle Bach Choir performs music that is interesting and beautiful; accessible for audiences who are hearing their first choral music program, and those who are seasoned choral music aficionados. A reception with hors d’oeuvres and beverages begins at 6:30 pm. The concert begins at 7:30 pm, and is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. The concert is free.
