Each year Newsweek magazine picks the best high schools, and this year 6 high schools in Washington state make the list of the best 1000 schools in America.
Five of the six highest ranking schools in Washington state are in Bellevue School District: International School, which is 12th on the list; Interlake, 48; Newport, 56; Bellevue High School, 148; and Sammamish, 369. The only other Washington high school on the top 1000 schools is Bainbridge High School at 370.
