Each year Newsweek magazine picks the best high schools, and in its latest ranking 10 high schools in Washington state make the list of the best 1000 schools in America--the ones that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads.
Four of the 10 highest ranking schools in Washington state are in Bellevue School District: International School, which is 24th on the list; Newport, 105, Interlake, 114; and Bellevue High School, 165. Sammamish, which was ranked 369 last year, did not make the top 1000 high schools.
