Bellevue Beat | Bellevue Way to close for two weeks in downtown Bellevue

Bellevue.com

Bellevue Way NE in downtown Bellevue will close for two weeks starting Monday, May 12. The 12-day closure will enable the city to perform utility work (water, sewer and storm drainage) under Bellevue Way as part of Lincoln Square's $1.2 billion expansion.

From May 12 through May 23, drivers will encounter full lane closures in both directions on Bellevue Way, from NE 6th Street to NE 4th Street. The Bellevue Square-Lincoln Square pedestrian skybridge and all adjacent businesses will remain open. Electronic message boards will be set up prior to the closure, detour routes will be provided and flaggers will be on-site to direct drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists safely around the construction zone.

The majority of the utility work and associated road work will take place between 7am and 9pm to prevent overnight noise to adjacent residences, although some night work will be necessary to mitigate the impacts of water service shutdowns.

Kemper Development Company, which is doing the project, will post regular updates. If there are any emergency situations, the public should call GLY Construction (24/7) at 425-451-8877.
