Amazon announced in a press release that the company is committing $42.5 million to create more than 300 new affordable homes near new light rail stations in the Puget Sound region in partnership with Sound Transit.

The deals stem from Amazon's $300 million transit commitment from 2021 to create 3,000 new affordable homes in collaboration with the transit agencies in Amazon's three hometown communities of Washington state's Puget Sound region; Arlington, Virginia region; and Nashville, Tennessee.

In Bellevue, Amazon will partner with Sound Transit and BRIDGE Housing to create 233 new-construction affordable apartments in the Spring District/120th light rail station area. The 120th station is scheduled to open in 2023.

Angle Station in the City of Seatac is the other location in Washington state and it will get some 85 new construction affordable apartments.

The Spring District in Bellevue is currently home to three apartment buildings including Sparc Apartments, Arras, and Amli.
