Have you spotted these fun, playful and bright utility and signal boxes around Bellevue?

See if you can spot them next time you are out in Bellevue.

Utility and signal boxes in Bellevue got an artistic face lift thanks to Bellevue's Arts and Culture and Urban Boulevards programs that both strive to transform the use of our street corridors not only as transportation infrastructure but as vibrant community spaces. Since early 2021, the City has been working with local visual artists living on the Eastside to design artworks in any medium that can be digitally reproduced on a 2-dimensional vinyl wrap for utility and signal boxes. Selected artists receive a stipend ranging from $750 to $4,000.

To date, some 25 utility boxes in Bellevue got the artistic treatments from 17 local visual artists.
