Event Description

This educational workshop will explore key issues impacting women with MS across different life stages: Creating life balance and communicating powerfully with family, friends and colleagues; Intimacy and sexuality: Coping with MS symptoms and strategies to strengthen closeness; Pregnancy and MS; Aging with MS: Changes with and following menopause. Dr. Simnad will join her colleagues from the MS Center, Rehabilitation therapy, and life coach Maureen Manley in a lively discussion on these and other topics important to women diagnosed with MS.

Featured Speakers

Virginia Simnad, MD, MSc, Program Director - MS Center at EvergreenHealth
Dr. Simnad is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with
fellowship training in neuromuscular disorders from the University of Virginia. She
has 15 years experience in research and clinical management of MS and is a strong
advocate of comprehensive care models for the treatment of MS.

Kristy Brewer Sherman Ph.D., ABPP-RP
Dr. Sherman is a board-certified Rehabilitation Psychologist who has been
working in the field for nearly 20 years. She completed her doctorate in clinical
psychology at the University of Iowa and her internship at the University of
Washington. Her clinical interests include adjustment to illness and injury, pain
management, treatment of anxiety and depression, sexuality, and relationships.

Maureen Manley, MA
Maureen is a warm, dynamic and compelling speaker, life coach, educator and
consultant. She integrates her inspiring life experience and education into her
presentations, weaving stories, metaphors and scientific findings to illustrate
practical approaches to overcoming adversity.
