Event Description

Textures and patterns are everywhere and adding them to any ceramic surface encourages a viewer to touch and hold your work intimately for a truly tactile experience. In this weekend workshop, students will be encouraged to discover the use of texture in infinite measure. Explorations in additive and subtractive techniques such as drilling, add-ons, dry and water etching, punching and hand-throwing, dropping or stretching clay to create works with a tactile emphasis will be investigated. Introductory clay experience and a desire to investigate are necessary. Students are encouraged to come to class with images of designs or textures that are inspirational in their working style. $190
