Event Description

The REIA Annual Law Update is a mix of existing laws, ordinances and rules that impact real estate investors along with a recap of some of the more common legal pitfalls that can make us easy prey for problems.

Our attorney panel will be comprised of four attorneys who are active in REIA, some of whom are also real estate investors.

Fellow REIA Members and Washington Attorneys Ben Cushman of Deschutes Law Group, Scott Hildebrand Attorney at Law, Jack Orr of the Law Offices of Jack G. Orr, Inc. PS and Scott Scher of Sternberg Thomson Okrent & Scher, PLLC will team up for this year's law update.

More information on each attorney is available at www.REIAwa.com.

Topics included are:
- the Distressed Property Conveyance Act, a Washington law that can put you at risk of lawsuits AND be a felony!
- Landlord / Tenant and Eviction matters, all recently changed
- Syndication and Securities, including borrowing private money for your deals
- the new Condominium Act, a law that "may" breathe life back into condo developments
- the new "Notice of Intent to Sell" Ordinance that can affect all Seattle Landlords with properties of two units and above
- and more!

We'll also have a breakdown of the new Graduated Real Estate Excise Tax that goes into affect on January 1, 2020.

Questions on all real estate topics are absolutely welcome!

Whether you are an experienced real estate investor, just getting started or have a rental or two there is plenty of good information and plenty of REIA Business Members on hand to make your investing life easier!
