Jazz Around Bellevue

Bellevue loves jazz. Or maybe it's the other way around, jazz loves Bellevue. Jazz in Bellevue dated back to more than 30 years ago when Bellevue first hosted a jazz festival featuring Northwest jazz performers, school groups and local artists in 1978. Through 1993, the jazz festival was an annual staple for Bellevue in the summer months on the lawn of Bellevue Community College.

After a 16 years hiatus, the jazz festival was revived in 2008 when the Bellevue Downtown Association took over from the Parks Department as organizer of the event. Since its rebirth, jazz has reconnected with its roots and is really thriving in Bellevue.

Today, Bellevue celebrates jazz year round. Throughout the year you can catch local and regional jazz artists delighting audiences of jazz aficionados, young jazz enthusiasts and musical artists at diverse venues throughout Bellevue.

The Bellevue jazz scene gets an extra kick each spring with the multi-venue series of jazz events and concerts in downtown Bellevue. Now in its 9th season, the spring-time annual Bellevue Jazz Festival, produced by the Bellevue Downtown Association, is quickly becoming a fixture on the Bellevue jazz scene. The 4-day jazz festival kicks off Wednesday, June 1, and features top national and regional artists as well as our next generation of rising stars at various downtown Bellevue restaurants, bars and venues.
