New 8-story mixed-use multi-family residential building in downtown Bellevue received Design Review approval. Filament East, the proposed downtown Bellevue project, will be located at the current site of Taco Time at northwest corner of 106th Ave NE and NE 2nd Street.

Preliminary plans for the 8-story Filament East Bellevue include approximately 150-160 residential apartments, ground-level with 1,800-sf of retail spaces, a 1,300-sf leasing office, a 1,700-sf private amenity (fitness center), a 2,200-sf residential lobby, and 151 parking stalls located in a three-level underground parking garage.

The project site currently includes surface parking and three one-story buildings, including:

  • a restaurant building (Taco Time) constructed in 1979
  • a retail building (Michael's Fine Dry Cleaning) constructed in 1925; and
  • a retail building (Rose's and Kennedy Lamp & Shade) constructed in 1958.

All three existing buildings on the project site would be demolished.

Construction of Filament East is slated to begin in August 2022, with a completion date in 2024.
